About

Sondra Peron is a Massachusetts-based fine arts photographer and has been on the faculty at Springfield Technical Community College since 2011. She is currently Associate Professor in photography and philosophy and special cultural programming, and she has also been the gallery coordinator of the Amy H. Carberry Fine Arts Gallery since 2013.

She has been a visiting professor of art at Hampshire College, and taught at Holyoke Community College, Northwestern CT Community College, and Bay Path University. For over eleven years, Peron was arts administrator and public art director for the city of Northampton's Arts Council.

She earned her M.F.A. in Photography from Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, B.A. from Smith College in Philosophy, and more than one associates degree from Northwestern CT Community College.

Peron's photographic work integrates historical and philosophical issues while bridging old and new photographic technologies by combining vintage cameras and analog practice with contemporary digital imaging and printing.
